About Bearded Twin
I leave the house. I walk. I allow my intuition to guide my path. Along the way I document and collect artifacts from the journey. These can be digital photographs, video, audio recordings, found objects, or overheard conversations. When I find myself home again, I begin to assemble my finds to create psychic-emotional travelogues, documenting not just a day and place, but a snapshot of my mental state and a personal journey narrative.
I and my work explore the relationships between the industrial landscapes of the city I love and the lyrical memories evoked. With influences as diverse as Steve Reich and David Friedrich, I document my wanderings through neighborhood landscapes and my internal journeys with video and sound assemblages.
Ever since I was a kid in Rosendale NY I have been a wanderer, marking my journeys through the collection of artifacts and memories. I would create psychic-emotional travelogues in order to recall the magic left behind. The dark woods of upstate NY has been replaced by the city--my new muse.
